My ugly reenactment mug.
After not even half a year of casual use, I’m desperately in need of new gear. European craftsmen and women: get your pockets ready for some cash!
One of my most treasured books is this beautiful Norwegian version of Beowulf that a dear friend bought for me during her first trip to Norway. With my upcoming trip to Germany I’ve been contemplating the great fortune I’ve had with the people in my life. This was given to me by someone I have never met in person (and who I only met by chance online), yet I’ve been gracious to receive such gifts and continual friendship from, even when I only have been able to offer friendship in return.
Meditating on those friends I have made in person though this thought comforts me. Leaving behind dear friends and family for a year will not be easy, but it is nice knowing that connections do not necessitate proximity. I feel I do not express enough the happiness and fortune I have for my friends. I have met some amazing people in my life who have always done so much for me even when I had nothing to do for them in return.
If you are reading this as my friend, then know that I have been happy having you in my life and hope that such happiness is both mutual and long lived. If you are reading this as a stranger, then I hope you may be reminded of the people who have made your life even just a little bit more worth living. If you had the courage to even read past the first paragraph, then congratulations on your patience and excellent attention span!
Vegvisir commissioned for a friend. Apologies for the spamming; figured I would post my backlog on Instagram.
One of my first woodburnings using the “blackburned” technique I learned from an old dear friend. Someone whose skills far surpass mine. Unfortunately I didn’t get to finish and seal it properly.
Finished making my first pair of leather fighting mittens for Viking reenactment! Better pics to come in due time. Hope you all enjoy!
Do you mean the rune display plaques? I don’t think I’ve ever done anything like an actual box. But regardless, let me know what you had in mind and I’ll let you know what I can do. I have been pretty sidetracked with schoolwork lately, but if it is in my power I can see to get it done, even if it might not be done immediately. :) Thanks for the question.
Hey brother! Things are going pretty well. Enjoying some free time before University life begins in August. :) Glad you found me here! Hope things have been well for you.
